Spanaway Lake Park

Visitors can explore multiple swimming beaches, picnic areas, a fishing pier, a newly renovated boat launch, and a three-mile trail within the park. Additionally, the park features baseball fields, basketball courts, and a newly renovated children’s play area. In the holiday season, Spanaway Lake Park is the home of Fantasy Lights – the largest drive-through holiday display in the Northwest.

Spanaway Historical Society

The Prairie House Museum in Spanaway Historical Society is an 1880’s restored Gable and Wing Farm House. Their mission to preserve Spanaway history, and the care takers and administrators of the Prairie House Museum. This site is open for tours by appointment and most Wednesdays 10am-2pm.

Lake Spanaway Golf Course

For those who like to spend their weekend on the golf course, Spanaway has a beautiful course for you. This is a classic course that appeals to the novice player but also challenges the best players in the region. Lake Spanaway Golf Course has a reputation of holding up very well in the winter months as over 700 tons of sand was applied to the fairways, tees and greens back in 2007. And for those who simply want to practice their swing, this course offers a covered and well-lit driving range that provides a comfortable atmosphere.

Sprinker Recreation Center

Sprinker is the community recreation headquarters for all those living in Pierce County. It’s located just outside of Spanaway Lake Park. They offer indoor and outdoor recreations facilities for all ages and abilities. They are best known for their ice arena, where they offer classes and even competitive skating teams. Sprinker Ice Arena has been recognized for it’s “Excellence on Ice” – an award only given to the clubs and facilities that have shown their dedication to excellence in coaching on and off ice.

LeMay Family Collection Foundation

Separate from America’s Car Museum in downtown Tacoma, the LeMay Family Collection Foundation is still directly owned and maintained by the LeMay family. It showcases about 500 cars, with some being rotated into or out of off-site storage. The LeMay Family Collection Foundation is also the site of the annual LeMay Car Show. This location is a great place for car lovers who like original cars not shown at larger museums.
